Our founder, Steven Smith, has 25 years of progressive management experience in the hospitality, financial services, and retail sales sectors. For the past fouteen years he has been a college instructor, business and industry trainer, and professional consultant in both domestic and international markets.
Steve has taught human communication topics, work place interaction, and leadership skills to all levels of learners in classroom, boardroom, and workroom environments. Steve views training as an interactive collaboration between student and teacher and considers himself a business partner for his clients.
Steve holds a B.A. in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame, M.A. in Human Communication Theory from the University of Northern Colorado, and certificates in Corporate Training, Six Sigma Analysis, Systems Thinking, MBTI, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
As a trainer, Steve’s areas of specialization include quality and participation practices, conflict management, change management, human resource development, work place communication, business process improvement, and organizational leadership.
As an educator, Steve has focused his research on multiple intelligences, personality types, learning styles, brain-based learning, cooperative learning, and e-learning.
Currently, Steve is an active member of the American Society for Training and Development and the senior consultant for Customized Training Options.
In addition to Steve, the Customized Training Options team includes professionals in areas such as Project Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Computer Services, Human Resources Administration, Business Succession Planning, and Entrepreneurship.
